The Bears are 5-1 for the first time since 2012. They started 7-1 that year but missed the playoffs. Let's predict how they finish this year in the rest of their games.
Week 7-@ Los Angeles Rams: W 30-26
Week 8-New Orleans Saints: W 27-23
Week 9-@ Tennessee Titans: L 25-24
Week 10-Minnesota Vikings: W 32-24
Week 11-Bye
Week 12-@ Green Bay Packers L 22-17
Week 13-Detroit Lions W 30-17
Week 14-Houston Texans W 24-17
Week 15-@ Minnesota Vikings W 25-22
Week 16-@ Jacksonville Jaguars W 30-13
Week 17-Green Bay Packers W 28-24
Look, this is a very ambitious prediction. 13-3? When I originally predicted 10-6? Yeah, but now I see what every team is capable of. The Saints are not who they have been. Same with the Vikings and Texans. Also, I do think the Bears will beat Green Bay at home to win the NFC North and the second seed in the NFC (Seattle will go 14-2 and get the one seed). I do think it's possible they lose more games, but this is just my prediction.
Week 7 begins tomorrow with 2 horrific teams playing for a chance at a playoff spot. It's a Tankathon and a playoff push. But when you're in the NFC East it's hard what to predict. But let's predict the playoffs based up to Week 6.
NFC:
1 Seahawks (14-2)-Bye
2 Bears (13-3) vs Cardinals (10-6) 7
3 Buccaneers (11-5) vs Saints (11-5) 6
4 Cowboys (8-8) vs Packers (12-4) 5
AFC:
1 Kansas City Chiefs (14-2)-Bye
2 Baltimore Ravens (13-3) vs Cleveland Browns (10-6) 7
3 Tennessee Titans (12-4) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (11-5) 6
4 Buffalo Bills (11-5) vs Indianapolis Colts (12-4) 5
Now I know what some of you may be thinking. "Ethan, the Browns in the playoffs? What is wrong with you!" Now hear me out. This team was exposed against Pittsburgh, but remember they beat Indy. I could have put Vegas in there but I don't see them getting in. New England is also a sleeper team to predict. Also, the Niners aren't the team they were last year. Time for the predictions to all the games:
NFC:
Bears beat Cardinals
Saints beat Buccaneers
Packers Beat Cowboys
AFC:
Ravens beat Browns
Titans beat Steelers
Bills beat Colts
Divisional Round:
NFC:
Seahawks beat Saints
Bears beat Packers
AFC:
Chiefs beat Bills
Ravens beat Titans
Conference Championships:
NFC:
Seahawks beat Bears
AFC:
Chiefs beat Ravens
Super Bowl:
The defending champions versus the return of the Seahawks. I like how everyone thought the Seahawks were dead after 2017, but then they come back and are 5-0. With that being said, the last time a team repeated as Super Bowl Champions was in 2004 when the Patriots beat the Eagles. It finally happens again.
Chiefs beat Seahawks 34-28 (OT)
Yes an overtime game. This ironically has the same score as 28-3 finished. But it will be a shootout the whole game with Wilson getting picked off and Patrick Mahomes finding Travis Kelce for an 18 yard touchdown.
A couple more announcements. Podcasts will return shortly. Mock Draft 2.0 will return on retro format (AKA Google Docs) because those can take a few days to make. This will be the case for all mocks moving forward. Lastly, a new tab called Power Rankings will come shortly.

Complain all you want, but these are my picks. Next week will cover how the rookies have fared halfway through the season. Mock Draft 2.0 is currently in the works. I am on pick 10. It should be released within the next week, so stay tuned.
We all know the story. The Bears traded up for the #2 overall pick, they drafted Mitch Trubisky, and Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes went later in the draft. Mahomes was a risky pick (like a certain Aaron Rodgers) and Watson had won a national championship. Personally, I wanted Watson. So let’s go back to 2017.
“With the second pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select, Deshaun Watson. Quarterback, Clemson.”
The Bears take Deshaun Watson, still trading up with the Niners to get him. Trubisky ends up falling to #12, where the Houston Texans select him. Mahomes still goes at #10 to the Chiefs. Now this is where things shake up. The Bears, instead of Adam Shaheen, select George Kittle. Side note, everything else that happens in the draft still occurs, except now, Adam Shaheen goes to the Broncos, and Jake Butt goes to the 49ers. This is irrelevant by the way.
In year 1, the Bears start 0-2. But now, they plug in Watson and take out Mike Glennon. They still end up beating Pittsburgh, because Watson is better than Glennon. They end up losing to Green Bay, but win their next 3. They lose 2 straight to start 4-5, but beat Detroit to start 5-5. They go 6-6 after Philly (loss) and San Francisco (they win, lost in real life. I was actually at this game). The rest of the year plays as normal, and the Bears finish 8-8. They still fire John Fox and hire Matt Nagy. The Khalil Mack trade goes down as well, and the Bears sign Allen Robinson. But now we get to the 2018 NFL Draft, not much changes. The Niners still get Mike McGlinchy, just one pick earlier. Roquan Smith goes to the Bears still, just a few picks later. But let's go back to free agency. The Bears approach guard Andrew Norwell, they want him as protection for their young star. So Norwell signs with Chicago.
2018. Things change. The Bears go 14-2 with wins over Green Bay in week 1 and the New York Giants in week 13. They lock up the top seed in the NFC. The Chiefs are still 13-3. The Texans are 9-7 with Mitch. NFC Championship Game. Bears vs Saints. The Bears dominate, and go to the Super Bowl to face the Chiefs. The Chiefs beat a Texans team in the AFC Championship game, and that Texans team beat the Patriots the week prior. In the Super Bowl, it’s close. But in the end, the Chiefs prevail. After a year of speculation, the Bears move Kyle Long to Atlanta for pick #14, and needing a running back, they take Josh Jacobs. David Montgomery ends up falling to the Patriots.
The 2019 NFL Season. Halfway through the year, Bill O’ Brian is fired from the Texans after an 0-5 start, and they end up hiring Kevin Stefanski, who will help change Mitch into the QB of the future. But back to the Bears, they go 15-1. After a good playoff run, the Bears go back to the Super Bowl. But who do they face? A rematch of the previous year. Bears-Chiefs. Can Chicago break the Miami curse? In a hard fought game, with 5 seconds left, they are about to lose. Down 5 and one chance, Watson throws a hail mary. And who catches that hail mary? None other than Allen Robinson of course. The Bears win the Super Bowl, and Watson is hailed as a hero. Both him and A-Rob get lucturative extensions, Watson a 6-year, 72 million dollar deal, and A-Rob a 3-year, 54 million dollar deal.
So yeah, the Bears win the last Super Bowl. Now, in a perfect world, we would know how this season would play out, but we don’t so I can’t say how good Mitch would be under Stefanski. But let’s just say he goes 13-3 the next year, which is actually this year. Okay? Good. Stay tuned for more what if scenarios.
It's time for my annual playoff predictions for the NFL. We know what each team is capable of and where they are all seeded, along with who they are playing. But I'm not gonna waste anymore time, there is a lot to talk about.
AFC Wild Card:
(2) Bills 27 vs 22 Colts (7)
(3) Steelers 20 vs 24 Browns (6)
(4) Titans 20 vs 31 Ravens (5)
Let's start at the top. The Bills-Colts game will be close, and this is also possibly Phillip Rivers' last game in the NFL. Indy will be down 21-14 late, but then score a touchdown and 2 point conversion to go ahead 22-21 with about 1:30 left. Josh Allen will lead a great drive, and then fail the 2 point conversion. Indy will not get the hail mary. I actually have the Browns making a run, just you wait. Now, this was hard to decide. Kevin Stefanski will not be coaching due to COVID. But I do think the Browns will have the confidence to get through into the AFC Divisional matchup. The Ravens-Titans will be a run battle, but the Ravens will win thanks to their balanced run and air attack.
NFC Wild Card:
(2) Saints 27 vs 29 Bears (7)
(3) Seahawks 33 vs 24 Rams (6)
(4) Football Team 19 vs 39 Buccaneers (5)
While this is a Bears site, I would still pick the Bears over the Saints if I wasn't a Bears fan. Why? Well, we took them to OT in round 1, and that was with Foles at quarterback. Now, I know people will say that they didn't have Thomas or Sanders that game, but they still would have made it close. Plus, we hopefully will get Jaylon Johnson back. I have the Seahawks by 2 scores ONLY because we don't know Jared Goff's status. If he's healthy, it will likely be a one score game. The Bucs-FT clash will be similar to the Bears-Packers last week. I don't think it will necessarily be a blowout, but the Bucs will pull away in the 4th.
AFC Divisional:
(1) Chiefs 31 vs 34 Browns (6)
(2) Bills 45 vs 41 Ravens (5)
This is crazy. The Browns over the Chiefs? Look, the Chiefs honestly should not be 14-2. They got pretty lucky with a few games. Eventually, this luck is going to come back to bite them. The Browns cinderella story keeps on rolling. The Bills-Ravens will be the most exciting playoff game in a long time. I'm expecting at least 5-7 lead changes. But Buffalo comes out with yet another late touchdown.
NFC Divisional:
(1) Packers 38 vs 30 Bears (7)
(3) Seahawks 27 vs 26 Buccaneers (5)
The Bears, who drunkenly found their way into the divisional round, finally fall thanks to the NFL Player I hate the most Aaron Rodgers. I wanted to pick the Bears, but I only saw one scenario where they win, and that is Rodgers and Adams can't play for some reason. Seahawks vs Bucs will be the closest game by far, but a late Jason Myers field goal wins it for the Hawks.
AFC Championship:
(2) Bills 33 vs 28 Browns (6)
This is where the Browns cinderella story ends. By the way, if the Chiefs got here, I think Buffalo would win as well. Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield go back and forth, but in the end, Buffalo forces a Cleveland mistake, and on the final play of the game, it will be similar to the Steelers-Ravens ending in their first matchup.
NFC Championship:
(1) Packers 35 vs 41 Seahawks (3) OT
The only overtime match I'm predicting until the Super Bowl, this will be a similar game to the 2014 NFC Championship Game, except in Lambeau this time. The Seahawks will come back, and wind up winning in overtime thanks to a Tyler Lockett 42 yard TD reception, which leaves us with 2 teams left.
Super Bowl:
Bills 37 vs 34 Seahawks OT
An all around great game, Buffalo gets a touchdown in overtime to seal it, and I'm going to say it's Stefon Diggs that makes the catch. But it will be dangerous, as kicker Tyler Bass will miss a game tying 43 yard field goal (keep in mind that Seattle would have kicked a field goal in this scenario). But a lucky offsides call will save the Bills and give them their first ever Super Bowl victory.
Mock Draft 4.0 coming soon.
